A message from Mr M D Humzah
The evolving situation related to COVID-19 has resulted in unprecedented and difficult circumstances for us all. Although the situation is changing rapidly, I wanted to personally inform you of the impact the COVID-19 virus may have on our activities and effects on you.
In order to assist with the containment and to help delay the spread of the virus the hospital has been asked to implement the following:
• All GP education and patient information events are cancelled with immediate effect.
• All non-essential visits to hospitals will be minimised.
• Continue to implement their high standards of infection prevention control.
At present we continue to offer our full service of care and all private hospital appointments are running as normal. We will try to continue as normal, however, over the next 4-6 weeks the private hospitals have been asked by NHS England to undertake additional elective surgery to create capacity within the NHS. This may result in much of the elective surgery being halted in order to provide resources to the NHS for the COVID-19 patients. Outpatient appointments may need to be cancelled - at short notice.
This is an ever changing position and we have been recently informed that the medical insurance companies and regulators will be supportive of on-line consultations.
